Dr. Bossert received an award from ESA!

Silas has received the Snodgrass Memorial Research Award from the Entomological Society of America section of Systematics, Evolution and Behavior.

At the annual meeting, Silas was recognized for excellence in his dissertation. He received the SysEB Snodgrass Memorial Research Award. Nice work!

"This award from the Systematics, Evolution & Biodiversity Section (SysEB) is named in honor of Dr. Robert E. Snodgrass, a leader in insect morphology. It recognizes outstanding research by individuals who have recently completed a doctoral dissertation in arthropod morphology, systematics, taxonomy, or evolution."

Snodgrass was active in the early 1900's. He even taught at WSU for a couple of years before moving back east! (That was when it was the Agricultural College, Experiment Station and School of Science of the State of Washington.)
